I'm getting into my Themes these days...
I have written this little number inspired by Ixox's Flute VST which is pretty f**king good.
Picture the scene.. a covert operation in the remote himalayas, our heroine in pursuit of an implausibly underdressed female secret agent. The ski-chase continues over peaks and troughs, the cat-fight commences in the zen gardens of a remote buddhist temple..
Lots of snow, tension (try to imagine that bit), fur clothes and 1970's blue-screen background thrown into the mix. Sort of like yer boyhood Xmas Day movie...
Tools:
Me (arguably the biggest tool of the lot)
Ixox Flute
Bassline v2
OhmBoyz
Soundfonts
StringTheory (how cool is that?!)
OhMyGod
Astrobelt Mothership for all ambienty FX
a map to find where Anapurna was.
Yey! Enjoy/Detest/Ridicule at thy leisure..

And for gods sake can someone tell me how to make my URL's look a bit fancier?

WOW....
Of course i love it...
I'm so happy my flute is used. And this is a very nice track. I would have never played that way. Samplers are a good idea...
Thanks Matt !!
The drums are very nice too...

Yey! Morning team!
*far too enthusiastic for this time of the morning*
Thanks for the positive comments, esp coming from you guys.
I can't reveal my sources for the percussion side of things... but I as pretty pleased with the drums
Its a cheap trick but some subtle Ohmboyz over a basic beat can really busy things up.
Although the problem is really getting Ohmboyz to be subtle!
*down boy!*
Have now reviewed IxoxFlute and if you haven't already, I reckon you should check it out. Honestly.

Oh yeah!It works!Thanks Mystahr!

the music is great, groovy
to be constructive, i'd say the bass may need some tweakings to sound more "defined", round, if you see what i mean.
excellent use of the Ixox Flute !
well done

Hi Wopelka - cheers, do you mean a bit more EQ'ing? Or smoothing a bit?
Its admittedly a bit rough...

honestly, i'm unable to say what you should do...UniCon wrote:Hi Wopelka - cheers, do you mean a bit more EQ'ing? Or smoothing a bit?

probably a matter of compression and EQing (roll off the lowest freq)?

Yeah I see what you mean!
I left the sub bass part of the frequencies rather unedited. I kind of like it rumbly, being a bass player, but its not very clean..
Also i passed it through OhMyGod and the tube setting on that really can pump the lower freq's..
perhaps I over did it!

very sweet...beautiful tune plus turned me on to the flute (ixox) which for some reason i missed. different sound than i get from dash tubelesax, so an excellent addition to my collection.
i'd rather have a mullet than a comb-over.
fortunately, i have neither.

Very nice song!
Personally, I don't like the sound of the snare too much, but that'd only be me.
Should check that flute out, sounds great.
