I put 2 songs in my music website, though I think the song on top, "Will Pay Double", will interest you the most since it has more synths. It also has guitar and electric bass. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved. I can return the favor if you wish (leave me a link). Here is my link:

I like the music in "Will Pay Double," Aaron! The synth and guitar parts are appealing to the ear, and I like the overall vibe. I think I heard a little bit of Phrygian mode in there, too, which was neat. There's something about the vocal line in "Will Pay Double" that isn't quite working for me, though. Maybe it's the mixing, as the vocals sound a bit overpowered and placed in the background. I'm guessing this was a deliberate choice, but I'm curious about why.

davidstiles,
Thank you for listening and replying! It is not unusual that my vocals are controversial. Some people like them and some people don't. Same goes for my vocal effects. I mix with MDR-7506 Sony headphones. I know most people say it's better to mix with monitors (which I don't own), but I don't, partially so I don't drive my wife & daughter crazy. I like the sound of headphones anyway. Though my headphones tend to emphasize low & high frequencies, and mid-frequencies are a bit lower in volume, so some people tell me I mix my vocals too loud. For better or for worse, this is how I typically do vocals. I record the best vocal track I can, pitch correct it with Melodyne, and mix it with the original vocal track (non-pitch-corrected). I time shift the corrected track forward .020 to .030 seconds in time so the 2 tracks together give what I call pseudo-double-tracking, which makes them sound more full. Then I add some stereo delay to the vocals: without that, I feel my vocals sound weaker. I try to make everything sound the best I can without spending a ridiculous amount of time. I will now seek out your music.

Will Pay Double.
Nice song.
I like the vocals, sounds good.
Great guitar work and synth lead. The bass line is nothing fancy but solid and appropriate for a rock number.

Cheers

Laguna Rising,
Thank you for the review, I appreciate it! I will now seek out your music.....OK, I couldn't find a recent thread of yours, so I will review "Amazonia": drums and percussion sound fine. Guitar sounds pleasant, perhaps the timing could be a little tighter at times. Audio quality is good. Nice song. :)
