aggressive , and unrelenting ...

you might consider pulling back the reverb a tad on the drums ,
if you have a mix knob available ...
that alone could address some of the compression/ eq issues raised upstream...

should you have separate outs for those drums , some placement changes
might prove judicious ...

quite liked the composition ...
a good listen ...

voidhead23 wrote:Really well done. Reminds me a lot of Terminal Sound System...i really like the kit drums, and the arrangement, especially in the first 2/3rds of the song, is great.

A couple of mix suggestions: while i like the kit drums, they lack a bit of punch. Instead of screwing up the openness and natural sound of the drums themselves, maybe run them into some parallel compression and EQing to get a bit more smack without interfering with their actual sound. The drums may also be aided by a bit more variation. Are they MIDI or a live performance?

i also think the mix needs some EQ work...a bit more in the 'harsh' upper-midrange to really hit you when the synths bloom and some cutting in the lower mid frequencies to get rid of some of the mud that's happening. At the moment the mix sounds a little soft.
Hey thank you for listening and the constructive feedback,I really appreciate it. The drums unfortunately are sampled so a bit limited there but have taken on board what you have said here and will be spending some time this week tweaking. :)

I am sold on this one.
It's not easy to do a tune like this. Great job, now can I do a remix of it? :D
I woulda given it a 9/10 on the mix, but considering what's in here and how good it sounds already, it might not be technically possible to make a better mix.

Hey thank you, really appreciate you taking the time to listen. I love the horns too, there's something apocalyptic about them.

That awesome opening sound - blew him through a portal into an alternate universe...f**king brilliant...thank you! :0)

Great track - loved it...sinister and disturbing..great sound combos.

I would've loved to hear a hooky lead melody of some sort as well, but you can't always have everything you want and it it works as it is very well!

One more listen and then back to DD!
Hey thanks for the really kind words and feedback it means a lot. So glad you enjoyed it. :tu:

Great choice of individual sounds, and the combination of those sounds is terrific, in the original meaning of the word. Good work :)
Hey Tim,thank you for taking the time to listen and the encouraging feedback. As usual your opinion means a lot. Love the sculptures ,I need to get my ass to Woking sometime. I have always been a tad fascinated with The War of the Worlds,I went through a phase when I was about 15 listening to Jeff Wayne's version every night before sleep. :hihi:

I read some, not all, comments. I think the drums mix is perfect for the track.
I think the mix is great. Good sound design as to the synths.

With as little going on as there is here, it strikes me as rhythm tracks for something with like Jonathan Davis in Queen of the Damned vocals. I don't usually advise, but there is an expectation perhaps for massive tom fills and some more action in the drums. But again I love the recording and mix of the drums in this, without the strong drums and attendant sound this would lack and I tune out.
