rsmus7, I think it's beautiful! I appreciate it very much and have been listening to it a few times already. Love its "atmosphere".

What instruments have you been using for this piece? I know you're an excellect sound designer, so are most patches homemade?

Post

thanks pekadan,

yep my sounds are all homemade, only very few times I use presets, but not without tweaking them to fit ;-) .

I used definitely Z3ta and drumatic3,... I cant remember all now, I´m at work, so no chance to have a look for the original file to list all the synths I used

So generally, rsmus, when you do pads for this kind of music, do you layer sounds from various synths a lot or do you have a few favourite "pad-synths" you like to program and play?

Post

I have no rule for this,

but mostly I layer sounds,

and I have some more and some less used synths.

I like the Pentagon and Z3ta, and Wusikstation, Podolski, FM7, Pro53, M42, Reaktor and ....
I got too many to mention all ;-)

but sometimes I try maybe 10 or more synths to get the sound I really want.

8) Thanks. Just curious. I suck at ambient, atmospheric sort of music myself (whatever you'd call it). I do play around a lot with Cameleon and Absynth for pads and textures. Usually I manage to come up with quite cool sounds, yet these never seem to fit in the music anyway (but fit perfectly in the thrash can). :hihi:

Post

good you mentioned Cameleon and Absynth also two fof my favorites.

btw. which host are you using?
maybe we could do a collaboration on a song if you like my style ?

just pm me if you´re interested
