sorry, didn't have time for reviews, but some brief comments on my picks:
1. damstraversaz/hora - character and, best of all, space
2. utm/athens - warm & human
3. plunge/tabasco - infectious, unassuming & well-crafted, with a basic trust in music... welcome antidote to a month of i'm-better-than-this-kind-of-music parody
4. katanaman/open letter - because punk will never die
5. rockstar not/loser - musically, top stuff. lyrically? jesus as panacea will never be quite as resonant for the godless, but it's got a long musical pedigree, and your openness and humanity shine through
6. lady j/mr right now - convincing emulation
7. sane sanders/tower of babel - very evocative, just needs a splash of major label money to hire session players
8. ixox/the road to $ - i love how the second half starts to stagger like a man in the desert (mais je vote seulement pour la photo à la plage )
9. woj/8s - lovely textures, begging for a vocal
10. respirator/biggest hit - solid, primary-colour music; the satire's a bit perfunctory and easy
HM:
markleford, aieda cin, astanine, eman6ions, systemera, guido s, wopelka, xander, splynter, stjelle
worrying trend of the month: vo-bloody-coders. soon it'll be that cher vocal effect, then out with the suicide pills.
most controversial lyric: "i like to walk the path of joy, which makes me happy"...
best way to light one's shit: with a match

impossible to get together a list that matches the theme. there were some beautiful tunes that i gather aren't commercial, there are some seriously funny entries that i gather parody what is, so my list represents what for me might make interesting viewing if seen performed, not necessarly live, on tv, the comment in brackets () following each is how i envisage it done:
01: vurt - like i care - easily the most compelling of the parodies, the most telling of a healthy disregard for what sells music, and with a couple of barely audible sound-chuffs delivered with a sharp deficit of enthusiasm, a comic moment of cosmic ingenuity is realised- 'one time muthafucka' (open)
02: barnadine - lovestrikes - a song of real class, it would be captivating to see it performed for the music alone. (live)
03: griels - crazy every time - another comic high (theatrics)
04: tristezaorange - coastal town - the high llamas' feel is irrestible(as live as possible)
05: whyterabbit - alabaster (theatrics a la 'residents')
06: patrick9 - sunshine (theatrics a la 'sparks')
07: nikp2000 - kvr star (semi-live with vintage video effects)
08: diek - undercover (performed live with an ironic faux serious demeanour)
09: beardedone - it's a deal - (mild theatrics possibly involving robots)
10: aieda_cin - tiholasciato - (live)
regards

Here are ny votes. The top 3 were a really hard decision because any of them could have been number one. I will explain how I voted and why in the gossip thread tomorrow or something. Well done to all involved. I can safely say that at some point any of my top 10s could land or could have landed a major label deal.
Anyone left off of this list please understand that there is more to a major label deal than a great vocal or great production or lead sound you spendt hours designing.
it's all about the hook baby.

I know this is unorthodox, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I could find no rule forbidding multiple votes for the same song. If that be the case, then:
1. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
2. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
3. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
4. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
5. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
6. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
7. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
8. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
9. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
10. "Mr. Right Now" Lady J
In case we are forced to use only one-vote-per-entry (obviously because the crypto-fascist cultural elitists want to consolidate their male-dominated Eurocentric hegemony), then please accept this ballot:
1. "An open letter to the Man" Katanaman
2. "Love Strikes" Barnadine
3. "Noisy Town" Guido Scognamiglio (ZioKiller)
4. "tiholasciato" aieda_cin
5. "hora" damstraversaz
6. "Broken (raw demo mix)" Markleford Friedman
7. "MC Wopelka (The New Man)" Wopelka
