the horns sound GMish, but the overall atmosphere is very hypnotic

i like the drunken feel. and 3/4 is a plus to my ears.
8. Kaze - Jinro and other spirits
i like this worldish meditation with dissonances. not the most dancey tune, but perfect for a mystic movement.
9. tuz - eyenipplevoidoid
overcompressed (tooo loud), static (one simple pattern), bad ending (fade out), but one (big) quality: Kusturica-ish
10. nikp2000 - the bollywood hillbilies
Another very good rendition of world music. Makes my navel dance.

I've only had a couple of days in the middle of my summer vacation to do this, so I had to go through the songs really fast. I downloaded Markleford's radio, and played all songs from the beginning. The ones that didn't catch my attention in some way (or that didn't download or something) got removed from the playlist immediately. No mercy. Some songs I only heard the intro to. Then I listened more thoroughly to the 25 songs that survived this treatment, and selected my top ten from those.
I apologize for this unfair tactic, but at least I know I like the ones I vote for, even though some gems may have slipped under my radar.

2. Wilcoryte - Slowdance (It made me think of a girl in my high scool class that I managed to slow dance with once, in 1982 or thereabouts. The smell of her hair came back to me when the guitar came in. *sigh*)
3. Col G - MCLoser (great song, but you're still mixing on your laptop speakers, aren't you?)
4. Gregjazz - All I want to do (the kind of song I had to dance a lot to in order to sweep my first GF off her feet)
5. UTM - Feedback and Oscillate
6. Respirator - Waltz (gorgeous! brilliant! on my top five waltzes list!)
