Hi
The patch sorting in Aspect seem random, it's not alphabetic, not based on time, but at least (?) it's the same every time. What is the criteria, and can I humbly request alphabetic sorting?
Anyhow, thanks (again) for an amazing synth!

Yes, of course - I thought this was fixed in the current release actually.
The boring technical explanation: The seemingly random order is actually based on the balanced tree that Linux filesystems tend to use to store files. Which, as you have discovered, is not guaranteed to be alphabetical-, time-, or size-based, so requires a quick sort prior to display.
And thanks for the "amazing synth" comment; much appreciated!

Noted; I'll make sure this fix is included in the next public release.
