Also physically modelled. I believe the developer actually build a real hardware spring reverb, to model its behaviour in software afterwards..

Very nice Spring Reverb emulation in my opinion :)
+1
Totally agreed.

If you want SPECTACULAR, spring verb, get OverLoud's SpringAge while it's still ON SALE.

Thanks for the tip BC. Spring Age is pretty impressive. It would be nice to compare Necklace side by side with it - perhaps Quinto can get some demos happening at some stage.

One of the best tricks (invented by Lee 'Scratch' Perry, afaik): smacking the spring verb, then dropping on the floor during 'the drop'. ;)
Do you mean dropping one's body or the verb unit? I can imagine Mr. Perry spontaneously doing either

The ARP2600 and EMS Synthi/VCS3 had built in spring reverbs, while the Moog Modular and Buchla modulars had optional spring modules. Put a spring reverb on percussive electronic sounds, and things instantly sound old and mysterious:

You know, its funny... I listened to that intro dozens of times as a kid, but it never dawned on me at the time that I was hearing some wild Buchla-esque sounds through a spring reverb!
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

VERY impressive research coming up with that !
No "hit" words like "spring reverb" in the clip title...

I hope you stumbled upon that early on Sean, as opposed to auditioning 657,890 wild animal clips before finding spring reverb ! :hihi:
This was a show I remembered from my childhood. I stumbled upon the opening credits (which I had totally forgot about) when I was looking for the end credits theme:

I loved that song as a kid. Later on, I figured out that it had some similarities to "Lucifer Sam" by Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd:

Sean…

You want to create a spring reverb unit as soon as possible…

The world of reverb awesomeness depends on it…

[/Hypnotic voice]

Am I the only one that would by a spring reverb plugin immediately because it's Valhalla? :)

Interested in a Valhalla branded spring reverb as well! ;)

I made this preset to emulate spring reverb, not the most authentic thing ever but it works for me in a mix for oldschool feel.

<ValhallaVintageVerb pluginVersion="1.0.2b63" presetName="Springish_gb" Mix="1" PreDelay="0.0020000000949949026108" Decay="0.30399999022483825684" Size="0.0080000003799796104431" Attack="0.27599999308586120605" BassMult="0.62303876876831054688" BassXover="0.41299998760223388672" HighShelf="0.44400000572204589844" HighFreq="0.43200001120567321777" EarlyDiffusion="0.21199999749660491943" LateDiffusion="0.07199999690055847168" ModRate="0.23299999535083770752" ModDepth="0.087999999523162841797" HighCut="0.54699999094009399414" LowCut="0.052000001072883605957" ColorMode="0.3333333432674407959" ReverbMode="0.4583333432674407959"/>
I love sardines.

I use PSP Springbox and it's great. I've been through ALL of the spring reverbs available in the VST domain. As much as I love and support Valhalla, a spring verb would have to be CPU efficient and packed full of character for me to buy it without hesitation.

Let me say once again how great and useful the didactic dimension of your costumer support can be...

I would buy it without a demo. Vintage, Room, and Ubermod have brought me a lot of happiness. Seriously.

Thanks! I had to look up what "didactic" meant.
