I'd think more along the lines of Live's Grain Delay. Doubt you could get that with Übermod. Maybe Loomer's Shift would be a viable alternative. Sorry to post about another plugin, but as it seems to me that it is just not possible.... Please correct me if I'm wrong!

This isn't really the domain of ÜberMod. It sounds like the Particle pedal is more of a granular delay, i.e. a pitch shifter. I've thought about a pitch shifting plugin in the past, but that is for another thread. This thread, to be exact:

Great. Thank you both :-)

there is clearly a pitch transposer effect that übermod doesn't include, valhallashimmer does, but can't reproduce this accurately AFAIK, (it wasn't the purpose of it creation)

...Oopsi didn't saw immediately that the master had already answered this question

- The simplicity of the controls? The RE-201 has 7 controls, not counting input volumes and power switches. Compare this to the 40+ controls in ÜberMod.

- Something else?

From my perspective, coming up with an exact tape echo model might be an exercise in futility. Even if you model a specific tape echo unit exactly, it won't sound exactly like any other tape echo out there, due to variations in the stretching/drop outs of a specific tape loop. However, this doesn't mean that I shouldn't investigate things further.

All of the above, but with just a little bit more options as ping pong delay.

There are some space echo emulations, the ones I know in the market: the UAD one and the Dubmachines that runs with M4L in Ableton Live obviously have limitations because of hardware and DAW. Some others are not so up there so I think there is place in the market for one more native solution.

There arent emulations for other Roland tape echos as the 301 and the 501.

Yes if it can sound dark distorted and dirty in the analogue way.

I own the 301. The 201 seems a bit more random than the 301, and distorts easier. Otherwise, a well-tuned 201 sounds a lot like my 301 (or, conversely, my 301 sounds like an overly fussy 201).

Yep. :drunk:
After already owning ValhalaVitageVeb for a while today i finally got ValhallaÜbermod too. Mostly i got this as a Chorus/Ensemble plugin but it indeed could do a lot more than that and could be use as a very nice Delay effect (including Ping Pong Delay like done in some presets).

Anyway while a Delay could be done with Übermod another dedicated Delay plugin by Valhalla could be still interesting, maybe a bit more simple with fewer and more "Delay specific" controls (closer to those in other Delay plugins). I admit that the interface and/or parameters of Übermod could be a bit confusing i you are new to it.

Hi,

many thanks for this. This could be really helpful. At the moment i am mostly using the presets (and very happy with several of those) besides tweaking very few of the parameters (mostly those at the left of the GUI).

While i also like some of the Delays presets (especially the Ping Pong ones) as a Chorus and Ensemble FX the quality of this is really outstanding IMO and could replace multiple other Chorus plugins.

Have not really checked everything that is possible with ÜberMod yet but hopefully will understand it better in the future.

UPDATE:
Watching the beginning of the video i alraedy got taht there are actually two LFOs with dedicated controls in the MOD section. Also got an idea now what "Overmod" is used for.

wow! that brings a LOT into focus. Thanks so much for the vid! ...now that I've watched it, I feel a tiny bit guilty, but would it be possible for you to post the zero-thru flanger preset that you showed at the very end? That one is amazing sounding! :D

Post

After playing a bit with the Delay presets in ÜberMod and doing a few modifications i agree that currentlly Übermod seems to be enough for Delay purposes (and some other purposes...). :) :borg:

Just used a Bell like sound and added two instances of ÜberMod (one with a Chorus, another for a Delay) and ValhallaVintageverb on top. The result is so nice that i could start crying now... :hyper:

UPDATE:
Just installed some of the free custom Übermod presets that were posted in this forum. Nice that you could use sub-folders for the user presets.

There was a time her at K-v-R we would never had such a deep investigation about the specificity of an effect, defining what usual criteria might be relevant or not in such a detailed manner

I already said that once or twice perhaps but never mind...
