windows: http://thepiz.org/xt/midiForceToKey.zip
linux: http://thepiz.org/xt/midiForceToKey.tar.bz2

kind of like the ndc one (MIDIForce2Key) but slightly different. i used to use that all the time, but it's not available for linux (or intel mac) and the preset names don't show up in XT2. my version addresses those issues.

mac version will appear pretty soon.

You dirty old man! insertpizhere isn't that kind of boy, you'll have to at least take him for dinner first! :hihi:

yeah i want to midi shuffle to ..eheh... the only shuffle / swing midi plugs are in opt/mfx format. (i know there is a mfx wrapper for vst but it doesnt work with the existing mfx shuffle plugs)

and what about a midi msg filter....to block CCs msgs (and not only, pitch bend and other types would be cool also). stuff like filtering cc ranges (like filter ccs 1 to 16) doesnt work for me since i usually want to do selective filtering...(like only to filter out cc7 / cc11 / cc73 / cc123). The current ones are all SE, some are very nice feature wise, but eat so much ram.

edit: hmmm...only now ive noticed that you already have "CC changer/scaler/filter " in you todo list....great!

yes, i guess there aren't really any VST shuffle plugins. hopefully there's no technical reason for that. i'll see what i can do.

yup, this is the kind of thing i'd use a midi munger for, but since that's SynthEdit/Windows only, i'm going to make my own. what i have in mind for the CC plugin is maybe 4 CC slots that you do various operations on: change the range (including reversing it), offset it by a certain amount, change it to another CC, or block it.

if anyone wants to try what i've "finished" so far in its current state: http://thepiz.org/xt/pizmidi.zip

windows only at the moment... it's trivial to compile them for the other platforms, i just haven't done it yet. most of them aren't too useful for windows though, since nicer plugins than these already exist. oh well. eventually i'll get to some useful stuff that doesn't exist.

some of these were already around, but they're renamed here... the others have only been tested by me.

midi2qwerty - turns midi messages into keystrokes to the focused window
midiCCToTempo - maps the selected CC to the selected tempo range, if supported by the host (not energyXT)
midiChannelize - transforms all incoming messages to the selected channel
midiForceToKey - transposes incoming notes to fit in the selected scale
midiForceToRange - transposes incoming notes by octaves into the selected range, if possible
midiInvertNotes - "reflects" incoming notes around the selected center note
midiSostenuto - works like a sostenuto pedal for midi notes instead of piano dampers
midiVelocityScale - maps the velocity of incoming notes to the selected range
XT2 transport control - uses midi messages to control the energyXT2 transport (play, stop, home, record)

here's a couple of midi filters/manipulators... i may change these.
http://thepiz.org/xt/midiCCChanger.zip - change a CC, lots of confusing options
http://thepiz.org/xt/midiNotchFilter.zip - four filters to isolate or remove specific messages

that's pretty neat. you can recompile the effects while the audio is running, like jesusonic... though i guess this predates jesusonic. i wonder if it would be possible to get this into a vst plugin.

Thank you so much for these...just what i wanted

hopefully after you finish all your plugs i can get rid of all the other midi plugs i have in my vst folder. 8)

just didnt understand how the last parameter (out channel) works in the notchfilter. im using it in "pass mode" to allow only 4 midi msgs (note / mod wheel / breath / pitch bend), the rest is filtered out. all the 4 cc slots are set to "Channel : Any". how does the "out Channel" affects this setup ?

it would also be nice to have a plug that converted a cc to pitchbend (and even other msgs) ive got 3 midi controllers with lots of knobs (CCs) and none have a pitch wheel.

anyways ... thanks a lot for what you already gave us.
