There is an interesting discussion about visual representation of sound and it's quality.
Would be great if anybody could give some feedback.
The main talk is about sound morphing based on visual representation and I think experiences with Photosounder could help.

The main point is, do we loose significant sound quality, if we convert audio into a picture and vice versa?

To me though, this gives to the resynthesized sounds the nice digital & characteristic spectral feel that is unachievable otherwise.

Do you mean that you actually like the effect it gives to sound when Photosounder resynthesises them? I figured this day would come haha, I just never could get to like that effect.

Yes I do! :P I always liked the characteristic sound of spectral resynthesis in general.
