Having this configuration

1° hard disk IDE for OS (Master)
2° DVD ROM (Slave)
3° SATA HD to Back-upped all libraries, plugins etc etc...

After back-upped all in 3°HD i was uninstall (with PC off) the 2° drive and install another hard disk IDE to paste all things of 3° SATA HD (to use the SATAs for upgrade PC) but 1 second before XP start appears a blue screen (1 second time -_- I cannot see what said!!!) and the PC restart again and again and again... WHAT DO NOW???
I've tried the other empty SATA I have and work perfectly but the 3° with all my works no... I'm desperate, help Me please... :( :help:

PS: Anyway in BIOS (etc etc) the PC recognizes the third hard drive... o.O

How did you write this if PC doesn't work? Laptop?

Did you migrate your old OS to the new hard disk?

Check the jumper settings on your ide disks.Does the second drive have an old os on it? If so and it is set as master it may be trying to boot from it.Disable drive 2 or unplug it just to see if it is causing the problem.

Keep pressing F8 on boot until you get the choices and choose "disable reboot on system failure"
That will at least give you an error code. Also have you tried booting into "safe mode"?

Also tried... Yesterday I try all combinations but nothing... What dissappoint Me is that the PC recognizes the third SATA drive and say that all is OK\right... Have another empty new SATA and with this the PC start without problems... the 2 SATA are new... I hope don't loose all my datas...

Unfortunately today, Sunday all the PC shops are closed cause there is a rural festival in my country ... damn

But if your OS is on your first hard disk and it boots from the first hard disk, there shouldn't be any blue screen. Maybe you connected something wrong? Or you have the wrong settings in the BIOS?

Post

the blue screen appears for a second before XP should start and restart the PC... All cables I bought are news and also connections are right... Perhaps I can suppose is an alimentation problem... but repeat, other new sata works... :dog:

Post

Sounds like it's trying to boot from a non-OS drive. But if you can get into the BIOS and the BIOS recognizes the boot drive then the basic hardware connection is OK. And if the boot sequence is OK then that rules out a lot of possibilities.

Have you got an external drive bay just to have a look at the drive contents?

Also, I wonder if you did a clone of the OS drive then the XP license would transfer to the clone drive. If you leave both drives in after cloning a Windows then things can get very confused.

If you need to read it you could always video the screen during boot up. There's sure to be at least one frame with it.

unfortunately at moment have not a camera... :scared:

You could use a CD with bootable system like this, then you can use the diagnosis tools to see what's wrong:
