Need an expert! Why does my audio slow down during playback? Can't pinpoint it..

Hello,

using USB audio through external card when playingback a project on my DAW sometimes the playback starts to slow down and then becomes a bit choppyUsing ASIO drivers. This happens even with 1 single plugin with no CPU load. Is this my computer hardware? A driver issue? the soundcard? Sometimes when I disconnect the card and plug it back it goes back to normal.

I have been running an DAW for a long time and understand latency limitations but my settings are very conservative.

Used latency monitor it was my wireless adapter..FYI.
