Many laptops have empty space for these cards
What is the best usage of that space now, can a SSD fit in there?

Nothing, if you don't lack anything about your laptop. Or just don't get a laptop with such a slot at all, if you don't need it anyway.Numanoid wrote:Many laptops have empty space for these cards

These slots are becoming less and less common (Annoyingly, I still have a bunch of RME stuff that needs it) so add ons are going to become less and less common too, best thing i can suggest if you must fill that hole, go on ebay and look for the UAD card, they go pretty cheap now
Duh

Just an FYI - I just happened to find one of those UAD 2 Solo cards on eBay for $200. New seller though, no feedback.Numanoid wrote:This one?:

Gaslighting...is a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted or spun, selectively omitted to favor the abuser, or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception, and sanity.

Any chance of using the Express Card Slot for a SSD MSATA hard drive?

You can use them for SCSI cards, WiFi cards, USB cards and Audio Cards ... afaik there are no SSD or HDD cards.

Filemate could be the way to go...
http://www.wintecind.com/features/filem ... d_ssd.html
Looks to be sold still at NewEgg, but at twice the price of the same capacity "regular" SSD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 1K620G9623
Verbatim also got a range of SSD express cards, but it seems they all stopped being sold/developed like 5 years ago, because newer laptops don't come with express card slots...
