Upgraded last night coincidentally.
Admittedly on an iPhone but it's a worry nonetheless.

Upgraded my iPad 4 last night. No probs.
I always do it through iTunes so maybe it's more likely to cause issues if you do an OTA update?
Actually, it looks like it only affects the new smaller iPad Pro.

Upgraded my iPad Pro 9.7 with no issues.

iPad mini 4 upgraded fine. But, as noted, it may be specific to the newest iPad Pro.

Funny how they always distribute horror stories on every single iOS update there is. Usually it affects about 1-2% of the users. Makes a great story though, no doubt.
