Usually when it's a network issue in Spotify it will say something like Spotify was unable to connect to the network. Right now it just says Spotify was unable to play the song. As soon as I flip my interface off and back on it will play no problem. This happens in my DAW and other apps with sound but I notice it most in Spotify because that's pretty much going all day.

Thanks,

Ok, maybe it´s worth it to go through all power management features in windows and put them to the most environmental-unfriendly settings, just for a while? :)

Blast from the past, well it rules out what I was thinking.

I did just order a new card recommended for the Pro 40 by focusrite it's not here yet but hoping that might solve the issue.

Here's that link as well:

Both are TI chipsets but different chips.
Yeah, the newer FW800 one you already have, would be my suggestion for fixing issues on current generation motherboards. The one you've ordered whilst standard 5 years ago, no longer works on the current chipsets, although certainly worth a go on the EVGA.

It's an odd one. The power / performance profiles suggestion above from Roman is a common and effective tweak and certainly should be done although Focusrite should have already done most of it with you.

Power saving of any sort has to be off. Virus checking programs or video drivers can cause this.

Heya,

I had a similar thing with my machine for ages. It came down to my NVIDIA GTX650ti GPU and the NVIDIA PowerMizer function. Disable it, and it might help.

Here is how to do it:

Or you could do what I did and just use the utility provided here:

Worth a try!
