If that's available from an australian provider in that area, that'd be surely a good option. Although i'm not sure if there aren't traffic restrictions, or similar stuff.Dominus wrote:Is a satellite based internet provider a possibility?

I run predominantly offline and haven't had any problems. None of my plugins seem to want to phone home.
I make music: progressive-acoustic | electronica/game-soundtrack work | progressive alt-metal

I do see the appeal of having a production computer completely offline, there are far too many distractions on the internet and we don't seem to have any control. Have you looked at using one of the many plug-ins to block social media usage between certain times? Seems to be a little workaround that has worked for a few people I know - looking at implementing it myself. Although I'm soon to be moving into a rural area as well so we'll see how it works out!

I will not put my DAW PC's on-line. Luckily, my Cubase upgrade (my last being I only upgraded to go 64 bit) this past year allowed me to authorize the dongle my internet laptop.
I won't be buying/using anything that makes me put my DAW on line
