Is a 2011 mac mini sufficient to run the latest Logic Pro X?

Never owned a mac before, but I was given an older mac mini. I'm curious if its capable of running the latest version of Logic as is, needs some upgrades, or its so old its not even worth it. Here are the specs:

i5 2.3GHz
4GB RAM
500GB standard HDD

I will say it definitely FEELS way slower than my PC in normal use (Recent i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD). I would like to upgrade it but I'm worried the old i5 will still hold me back with intensive use.

I have a 2011 model - although mine is an i7 with 8GB RAM. It runs it pretty well, you just lose the fancy graphics in the new reverb but it sounds the same with the added advantage of not causing the fan to run so much

Not really... You'll be bouncing audio like a mofo tbh.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

10.6.8 would run beautifully on that machine, but it's unsupported by majority of vendors and Logic X, so yeah, you need latest that probably lags quite a bit on it...

You can add more RAM and SSD always, also freeze&bounce often, Logic (at least 9) is actually quite optimized and it runs the same as Reaper, at least on my tests, so it's pretty well coded and you should be able to make music with it, especially if you rely heavily on stock content and don't have huge projects.

Try and see. :tu:

This should give you a bump. :bang:

Also you can use something like this to relieve the stress from Mini and host hungry stuff on your new PC
