Kawai-Ex Pro: Notes always sustain above F5?

I don't know if this is intentional, or if it has something to do with personal configurations (I haven't made any so I don't think it's something particular about mine), but all the notes higher than F5 have some kind of auto-sustain. Without depressing the sustain pedal, the notes sound as if they are sustained (and depressing the sustain while playing them seems to make little difference to the sound). I've recorded a small soundbyte demonstrating the effect: https://soundcloud.com/theblackandwhitekeys/soundcheck
(I did not use any sustain in the notes played, they are depressed and released quite quickly. The lower pitched notes die off quickly while the higher ones sustain)
Mostly I want to know: is this intentional? Is there some reason for this that I just don't know? If I wanted to alter the sound, what kind of options in the preferences should I investigate to alter the duration of sustain or change the activation of this "auto-sustain" that seems to happen on only some of the notes?
Thanks for the advice.

Well, this is precisely how pianos work...
There is alway a note above which there is no damper.
On the Kawai EX Pro, it is F5, others have F#5 or G5, but all of the pianos work this way.
Here is a picture that shows how it looks on the inside: http://www.pianoren.com/site/pics/754/6 ... /Belly.JPG
