Hmm, who says you can't also stick an iPhone or iPod touch in there. Maybe they should consider including plastic trays to keep them aligned properly. Would look funny, but, why not?

if it's cheap, I can totally see buying one of these and recording on my ipad more often. if it's not cheap? I can totally see myself recording on my computer. :D

While this (and the device it rips off, the IO Dock) are cool, what happens when the iPad is a different shape in such a way that it doesn't fit? I really wish companies would go the Tascam iU2 route, and just make regular audio interfaces with a dock cable.

Something more applicable would be the Roland Duo Capture EX.

They just re-announced the same thing from last year's winter NAMM.
Maybe they'll actually ship it some day....

I'd never buy a "dock". Much future safe to have an interface like the Tascam or the Roland one....
