iOS drumming finally solved!!!! I've been working furiously all day today to find a solution for creating drum tracks on ipad/iPhone. I think I've finally done it. I recorded some custom kit pieces into the sampler keyboard in Beatmaker2 and assigned them to midi notes and mapped them according to the midi groove library I also imported to BM2. Not an easy task. However, now I can assign my custom keyboard sampler drums (not pads...not enough pads for this) to a track and add midi groove tracks or midi beats from a custom library I have installed. Load the groove, move it, copy/paste within the track, literally hundreds of grooves to choose from. From there I can change tempo, cut the grooves up, chop them...whatever I need to do to fit the song. It's a realistic sounding pop/rock kit with tons of fills and plenty of styles and time signatures. Now I have to see how I can export this as something others can import into their own devices. Groundbreaking for me. No more sequencing. This is only the first of many custom kits and libraries that will be available. Here's a short little sample with no effects. I'll post a video soon

I'm working on the same thing. I have two huge midi libraries that I bought years ago that are both mapped in GM Drum format. If I look hard enough, I may even be able to find some high quality drum kits that are already mapped. Also, since Audioshare now supports Midi and Audiobus, that may simplify things too. :-)

Another neat app to try is DrumStudio. It actually imports and reads Drum tabs, and there are thousands of them on the net. It's only $1.99.

P.S. Audioshare is:

By the way, which midi groove library are you using? Links? How much does it cost?

I have drumstudio...I've been working on some stuff with those guys and it's great...but not quite what I've got going here. These are custom recorded/sampled sounds and it does not play well with general midi....it has it's own custom mapping...kind of a pain to get it right but it's virtually flawless. I'm doing another kit tonight and two more in the next two days. I'll also work on a GM kit and groove library. With the first four custom kits and their individual libraries...you will have access to literally Hundreds...maybe even Thousands of midi grooves. You can slice them, mesh them together...the possibilities are endless. I'm thinking of doing private sale if I can get them to export easily and keep all the configurations I have. Looking at around $10 per kit (fully custom mapped keyboard with pro .wav samples, and it's own set of midi grooves....each is a vast library)

Final version of kit #1
Well, all my hard work finally paid off...I've finished the first custom drum kit and loop set in my DB DRUMS series DB StudioPopDrums. All of this was done on the iPad in Beatmaker 2. I'll be making this available for sale soon. Here's a sample: http://soundcloud.com/buddemeyer72/db-s ... ms/s-ExnMM

Here's another quick video demo of the pop/rock kit in action. I'm using Beatmaker 2 as a "host" for the kit until I can get the app underway for development...yes, hopefully developing an app with tons of features.
