Hello fellow iOS musicians!
My name is Jakob and I am an iOS musician. I wanted to tell you about my new blog I recently started. I've decided to make an entire album using only an iPad mini, and I will be posting regular updates weekly including embedded SoundCloud sound teasers and YouTube videos. I call it, project "Buddhadrome".

This project has been ongoing for approx 2 weeks and there are 4 blog posts up already.
Check it out!

Quote of my second Buddhadrome post:
"It has been proven to me, that to retain knowledge and expand on it, sharing it with others is absolutely essential. I am also hoping to spur inspiration and hope in future musicians. The youth will be carrying our legacy into the future, and It is my personal belief that these new handheld devices will have a great impact on that future"

It's a restriction, which informs the choices in the music, and creates something different from what would be created if there were more options. Like working in mono, or with soundchips, or just one synth.

Sorry, how would this not be relevant? I don't understand your question.

Sendy: you are spot on! That is exactly what Im trying to do with this project. Producing on an iPad can be so different from working with a desktop setup, then again, I've discovered that I in some cases it can be exactly like working with a desktop D.A.W.

Could you please choose a different font for your website (especially a bigger size)? It's a torture to read... :x

Or did you make your website on your iPad? :P

However, I wish you much luck for your project!

It might be interesting for producers but for the average listener I'm sure they could care less, but since its a producers forum its maybe alright? So maybe someone released a only created in 32 bit or only created with sticks and cans album to 'peak' interest. In any case good luck with release I will give a listen if I have time

Actually, that sounds really cool! :D

Is this something psychedelic? If so, I'm surprised that you didn't use "Alchemy".

Give us an update when you release your first song.

The first track of project Buddhadrome has been released and can be found at my bandcamp site! https://jakobhaq.bandcamp.com

I have also updated my blog with a post in which I'm describing what apps I used, to make the sounds for my track Amitabha. http://www.ptc-crew.com/jakobhaq/buddhadrome5-release

It was bothering me to so I'm glad you pointed it out. I have made the font size larger. :)

Definitely a nice idea, I like the voices & atmospheres. It's just that cannot get warm with the dropstep bass, alas...

I uploaded a new post at my blog yesterday.

This time I'm writing about working with Audiobus and Cubasis. Im also documenting what I feel is the biggest issues of producing with an iPad, and the ways around them.

Check it out! :D

Well you certainly aren't the first to do the ipad-only thing, but i like the idea of you giving a window into your workflow. Haven't had time to check it out yet, but looking forward to getting some ideas about how to make my ipad full of disparate apps come together in some kinda harmony

Cheers

I am certainly aware that I'm not the first one doing this considering David Israel aka "SmitteMatter" released an album made with an iPad back in 2011. And there where people creating iPod touch albums before that. Talk about limited platform :D

One of the main reasons why I am doing this is what your referring to, I wanted to open a window into my workflow. There is another reason, we'll more of an insight for me and this quote of my second "Buddhadrome" post describes it.

"It has been proven to me, that to retain knowledge and expand on it, sharing it with others is absolutely essential. I am also hoping to spur inspiration and hope in future musicians. The most fun part since the project startup has been networking with other iOS musicians. Sharing ideas, music and also solving problems. I've never had this much fun before.
