And being one of those who love to use acoustic guitar parts in my tunes (remember there were two acoustic guitars in my first tune) I also share Thom's thoughts about the rendering of the strums. Excellent calls!

The new, reworked Strumming variation is available in a new beta version (v2.7b1, only Windows full version) if you are interested.

This is a screenshot:

I was able to achieve more realistic strumming effect, the 'Automatic' settings works very well. Make sure you set the track to use guitar chords.

Wow! Go away for a couple of days and look what happens, haha. Amazing work on those strumming features. Unfortunately I cannot test the beta as I am on Mac, but I very much look forward to the implemented changes whenever they occur. Once again, cheers for your fast work. Wow.

since you requested the strumming improvements it would not be fair if you had to wait, so the Mac beta is uploaded too. Just add 'beta' at the end of the download URL, so that it ends with ...beta.php.

I have absolutely no idea if its doable or not...
but...
here is a first brain storm
"Interval" and "Polyphony" options for Melody Generator ,
like in the Dyads Run Generator.
plus maybe polyphonic rhythm to create random movements for voices...
creating string /pad sections even progressions ,
via one click, wouldn't be useful?

or
a new dedicated generator with all this parameters: "String Section"
( honestly i get excited even when i wrote this name )

TBH - I use the Melody Generator along with the Chord Generator a lot to create a String Legato passage and then throw in the String Staccato Generator and a few of your creations for good measure (no pun intended....but that worked well )

By stacking the variations I usually end up with a usable passage, eventually. It takes a while to compile though.

It would be really helpful to have a generator that allows note length that can be defined at specific points within a phrase to aid in placing the particular articulations.

this is also great idea
and made me think (probably i fly too high now ...just couldn't resist )
about the Density parameter for per voices
or a selector to define priority between voices
i think this would useful too
for example
to create less/slow movement for low pitch(bass) part and more movements for higher pitches (in this case cello and violin ranges) optionally.
please do not hesitate to stop me because i am thinking at loud right now.
...
i want to add one suggestion more which i was thinking for couple of weeks,
2 Bars , Bar , 1/2 Bar Divisions for Melody Generator.
most of the time i have to Scale MG original length 8 to 32 sometimes 64
it would be helpful to get long notes easily IMHO.

yellukhan, While I didn't express this as well as you have, the image you have provided is exactly my meaning. , a combination generator; chord/melody, providing a mix of single note/chords within the phrase at the desired interval.
