Thanx, Yildirim, very cute theme, especially in the middle part
BTW, which chord rules are you testing? Is it yours or just "factory minor set" (one of)?

Hi there
chord rules part still a little bit taboo to me
i wasn't sure about which rules i messed with either...
so i open the project to see, but seems rules shows last used settings instead of per project...
anyway,
i started to test default rules to get similar result again and yes found it
its Pop Minor Scale Rules with approx % 40 diversity for surprises
plus one of my melody generator preset.
thanks for the comments
how about the project:

testing new (i want to call "Legato") wonderful Adjust Note Lengthv2 (offset) variation with Melody Generator and harmonize function.
created couple of ones (via randomize/change MG and harmonize the result) and made a small collage of them in Reaper

Wonderful, yellukhan!
I find it amazing that for any new features in the beta version, you will find its usage immediately and creatively!
Thank you!
Attila

New "Add Chord Notes" Variation test
edited in Reaper
first just variation... then the original MG comes in...
project uses sfont just one MG / motif (so its repetitive) to being a music right now...
but hey its just an example

Hi yellukhan,
Thanks for the test file. However, I cannot seem to find where you used the Add Chord Notes variation. I have been playing with it myself, and was looking forward to seeing how you used it.
Also, how are you using the 'Harmony' track that is added when you 'Harmonize Melody'? Still trying to get my head around how this works and a good workflow to use.
Thanks,
Forrest

Hi Forrest,
Add Chord Note variation is in the track variations.
you'll see there join notes variation also.
in this case harmony track is just there i didn't use ( was added one of my earlier experiment in the project)
but if you asking in general you can use harmony track for example assign to a pad or strings section to hear with melody.
or go crazy assign it to an arpeggiator patch for example ..
I always include the Harmony to Host project it helps me a lot.
wait... or..
just in case
if you asking how to make harmonize so the create automatically harmony track?
its in the Phrase inspector, click to the gear icon on the phrase inspector you'll see the "Harmonize Melody..."
make sure Add "Harmony" Track is checked.
you can import your own midi files / melodies
then use this function RC will create automatically chord progression and harmony track...
also it works very well with polyphonic material so far tried.
...
one more usage that i recently realized:
set the song key for example F major
1-drag a Melody Generator to a track, regenerate till you get the result that sounds good to you
(or go directly step two without generating)
2-and now click to Melody Generator's gear icon and click to Harmonize
you can make this again and again....
regenerate MG apply and Harmonize again, regenerate + harmonize...so on.
please don't hesitate to ask if miss something.
edit:
one more example might worth to look in
has 2 piano tracks that uses new Add Chord Note ( -2 and -3 interval)
also i tried to show how i use harmony track in the projects (Chords-harmony track)
i hope it helps.
Warm Regards
Yıldırım.

Hi, here's a new song that was composed with the help of rapidcomposer.
All keyboard- and bass parts were first composed in rapidcomposer as a fundamental framework. Guitars, Drums and vocals were added later on in Cubase. The bass then was also replaced by a real instrument.

Greetings,
