Whey didn't the chords adjust when I changed keys?

Open up the Ballad template with New Composition.....

The key for the template is Am, and the first chord is I m (one minor) and the second is Vm.

I want to change the Key to Dm, and keep the chord sequence initially the same.

When I change the key to Dm, instead the chords change. Now the first chord is Vm, and the second is IIm.

In other words, it kept the chords the same and showed their relative position in the new key. The chords are still Am and Em and didn't adjust to the new key.

Isn't that backwards from what is supposed to happen/usually happens? The chords should adjust for the new scale.

Glenn,
you are absolutely right, something does not work well. I could make it work when I enabled "Harmonize Chords To Match Scale". However this should work without that! There was a small change in v3.2 about chords conversion, I'll check and fix this bug. Thank you for reporting it!

Thanks Attila for addressing this bug!

I know what is happening. The template files are old and there is a small problem with the contained chords.
Until the templates are updated, the workaround is setting Chord Naming to "Absolute", and again setting it to "Scale Degree". After doing this changing the scale will work as you expect.
