psyGen triggering question

Greetings!
is there a manner in which sample processing and audio output can be achieved with psyGen if not using an external MIDI controller or drawing MIDI note data into a DAW? it would be great to simply load samples into psyGen and play them back through the processing in a free-running sort of manner, but I've been unable to determine how this is done if the functionality exists.
thanks in advance for any response.

psyGEN is dependent on MIDI input from a keyboard, controller or DAW. However, Ambitron and psyBOX are not solely dependent on MIDI and can be free running and in both cases can initiate sounds with a built-in start button.
