Sorry I'm a Machfive noob, perhaps they require the samples but that would be another way of asking it.
The samples used in the MachFive programs (I won't provide Multis, everything is contained in the programs including the FX chains, that way the user is more flexible) are all in regular wav format 48 Khz/24 Bit/stereo, so you can also use them in any other sampler or directly in your DAW. Like in all my other Banks and libraries there is no copy protection or encryption of any sort.

Thanks. Sounds great. Looking forward to hearing some timpani demos. :)

Yep, I'll sample some more timps and waterphone today, then start cutting and editing all the samples, maybe by tonight I have a first timp demo up.

In this demo I'm playing the beginning of the Bach English Suite No. 6 with waterphone samples in granular mode, keyswitching between various samples (or better sample segments isolated from one looong sample) on the fly, controlling grain speed, grain detune and grain density with Midi Controllers. I think I'll make a record with Waterphone and Bach :)

So here is a first quick and dirty demo with the patch "Tribal Timps" - timpani tuned to the low C1 (as low as possible) hit with a large gong beater - 8x round robin, then there are rim shot timps with round robin and some glissando timps, all in the same patch split across the keyboard - 2 octave range for the round robin drums and one octave for each gliss at the high end of the keyboard. In case you have a subwoofer, he/she will love this demo:

Sampleconstruct wrote:In the end I put the waterphone on the timp and played a long impro bowing the waterphone and beating the timp. When moving the timp pedal, the water inside the waterphone begins to shake and modulates with the glissandi of the timp, quite amazing.
Here is an experimental soundscape made from the loooong sample that emerged from the process described above. Granular sampling, the Layer is set to 3 unison voices, unison modulation for pitch via the Modwheel so you can spread the whole sound out to +36 - 0 - -36 semitones between the 3 unison voices. One patch, played live, 100% MachFive:

Here is Raven's Song - combining the MachFive-3 patches "Waterphone Synth" and "Ravens and Water":

And here is a new version of the Tuning Thai Gongs-demo, now also using the scripted controls in the MachFive interface:

In this demo I'm improvising with the patch "Moanaphone" - combining waterphone sounds with FM synthesis:

So I added some elements to the "Time Flies" demo, it's fun to revisit existing demos adding some colours to the picture...

So after 5 days of cutting and editing waterphone samples I know have a great collection of sounds. Here is a demo using 4 instances of MachFive, each one playing a different waterphone patch. There are 2 keyswitchable Trio-patches involved, where you can choose on the interface which 3 samples/trios you're playing, how you want them mapped, sampling or granular, lot's of modulation options, then there is the Long Bow Pad in the 2nd half of the demo, with 13 multisampled long pitches over the entire waterphone range using a violin bow, sometimes crossfading different parts of a recording to get these ethereal sustained sounds. The metal percussion is also waterphone. There will be about 600 MB of waterphone samples (around 100 samples) in this library.

2 MachFive-3 patches ("Waterphone Calm Textures" and "Scape Synth") processed with B2 reverb compose this dark drone texture.

The plan: I want to have all the sounds completed by next weekend, then I will revise all of the patches once more and wait for the last scripted patches.

The scripter Iain Morland is doing a great job, the ideas I had for the scripting do take a lot of time to accomplish which also means that there will be fewer scripted patches in order to keep the financial risk somewhat reasonable. If this library becomes a successful one concerning the sales I can always add more scripted patches later.

So we're not too far away from the release, by Novembre 15 the latest this library should be out of the door.
