Scattered Entity sounds are full of suprises I found that the Vibraphone sound is really high class, and I combined it here with the DrumTasteBrush and Mach Five 3's included "The Upright" bass libraries..

Produced using Numerology4 Pro using some interesting techniques that I thought up after watching a Gary Burtons playing on you tube..

I'm getting into working in a way that's more idiomatic to the sounds, here's an attempt at asian atmosphere with the Tai Gong program. It's a very nicely done instrument I might add.

I made the beginning section longer, to ease the ears/soul before the percussion section comes in, the percussion section is a contrast section and does not meld in with the earlier section. functions like a faster plot driving scene in an otherwise pastoral film about cows and pasteurs, clouds, and the activity around impid puddles filled with tadpoles.

I removed:

Pitch glides on some of the sounds, the ghosts...

I moved from polytonality between some parts to full 12 tone harmonic tonally centered and reworked the base harmonic progression. Simplified som global transposition as well.

I reduced the number of instruments.

deleting the vibraphone and replacing with muted tai gong split turning the delay off, and triming the high frequencies.

I changed one of the earlier sounds to the Bowed Waterphone sounds.

I focused the instrumentation trying to get call and response happening in the percussion section with only one pad like sound the Evil Grains. Though the bowed waterphone does come in at one point.

I tweaked some of the modulation sequencers, though I still need to work on understanding the effects of, and getting the most out of the Scattered Entity sounds Macro, and Script modulation possiblitties.

I found a few bugs and missing connections in my setup..

I increased the tempo to 84 bpm from 77 bpm.

I thinned out in the percussion event density.

I guess it's a different track altogether, so it's not a version two..
Listening as I write - beautiful opening, inviting, mysterious, open.
Now part 2, the percussion starts, nice islands of strangeness but the opening feel and it's wideness isn't lost, it persists. I like the modulations and panning action, sounds amazing on the big studio speakers.

One of your best pieces so far!

EDIT: The ending doesn't work though, you shouldn't just fade it out. Just let one of the notes come to an end and let the reverb decay fully, like this it totally destroys the atmosphere imo.

I'll look at the ending, thanks for listening, it's hard work for the ears to be a sound designer /musician/composer so I appreciate it very much!

I made a new version of the earlier posted track Floating Tai Gongs

I fine tuned the arrangement, adding som space for the additional Flute sound, I did'nt really like the original Tangerine Flute Pad from Halion, so I switch it for the Flute sound in the Diversity for Diversion Synth soundset..

I don't know why but I never get tired of listening to the Tai Gongs.. Pentatonic music has earlier been something I've tried improvising with on the piano, but I got tired of it relatively quickly. Here with the great Tai Gongs, and my devilishly tricky Numerology4 Pro setup I can listen to it again and again...

I've spent the day fine tuning a track and experimenting further with the Singing Bowls sound from Scattered Entity. It's so relaxing, and interesting too. The pitchshifting in MachFive does an awesome job of making the 3 sampled bowls quite useable through out the keyboard range. each one playing around 2 ocatves. I did not use the macro controls in this Sceance but I'm sure Ill return to these sounds again and again to experiment. Here I'm trying to stay in the idiom of the singing bowls which is meditation music..

Yup it's a beautiful sound palette the Sing Bowls Trio, I guess I'll be spending some quality time with the macro adjustments on the Script/GUI page in another track experiment..

I revisited the mallet instrument the Vibraphone, experimented with the Macro/script GUI page to change the attack characteristics. I added a sound from the Patchpool Diversity Soundset for Diversion as well as the Scattered Entity sounds Combed Stabs, and Timpani Trio..

Danger experimental extreme!

This is another version of AmbientBirth where I got more in depth with the modulation possiblities provided by Simon in the Macro/Script pages of the various instruments. i setup up to eight multiseqment envelope modulation sources in Numerology per instrument.

A new ambient track where I replaced some of the sounds adjusted a few things, time consuming working these out as I had to listen through the long track 6 or 7 times before I got things close to how I like it. Though I suspect I'll do a version two later.
