I'm making a thread here with some examples of music I'm making with Patchpool sounds

Here is a first track.

I used sounds from

Mach V 3.2 Ambient Strings from the Psaltery bank

Spectral Synth Spectral Rays

Padshop Pro Droneland

Chromaphone AAS project Cardinals

Molekular DNA on the Chromaphone

Trash 2 on Spectral Ray sound digital glitch

Listening to it now on the big studio system, I much like the sparseness, cautious steps on a distant planet becoming more confident as the territory is explored, very nice usage of the psaltery! Maybe the mix needs a little cleanup to remove some overloads (e.g. the first big wave is distorted in a digital way and there are some clicks throughout the mix, probably caused by Trash 2 waveshaping).

Yes I hear the distortion, I was experimenting with autofade of the mix parameter in Trash, so it was a little unpredictable.. I noticed also the Soundcloud was glichy on other files last night though too..

I'll look at the issues this evening..

I've replaced the above track. so it's somewhat different, without the distortion, longer..

I've used:

Mach V Ambient Strings: Psaltery sounds; Mysterious Psaltery Duet Split Auto M, Psaltery Tremolos Unisonautomap, Ebowed Psaltery, Psaltery Melancholy Split AutoM.

Spectral synth; Spectral Rays, Space Organ Pad, going into NI Molecular, DNA, Alternating Swells. I'm crossfading the unaffected sound with the output from the effect.

Padshop Pro Droneland; three instances crossfaded with one another playing UFO Droner,Beauty of Drones, Glass Drone.

Chromaphone Cardinals; Emperors Palace, Metal Breeze, New Morning Kung Fu Mallets.

I enjoyed making this though work has gotten in the way we got Snow in Copenhagen I was alone fighting against ice build up in sub zero weather for hours yesterday, my workplace is both hit by sickness and the holiday so I'me basically facing an impossible large workload alone.

I'm working with Numerology Pro 4, it's slow going because It's difficult to just zero in on small sections so I change a few things then listen for a LOOOOONG time then change a few things again, it's basically a meditation state combined with a few actions alternate for as long as it takes to get something I happy with. Here I tried toning done the Spectral Synths lead so it's more coming from within the other drone like sounds, not sure if it's effective, perhaps it could be tuned in a little better both by it's reverberation amount and some panning to give more interest.. The Chromaphone sounds could be work with some more as well. But I think I will move on to something else for now and perhaps return to this later...

Beginning from around 1:18 I am starting to like it, the intro seems a bit far out there

you created some very nice layerings and dynamic waves here, the sparse melodic fragments in the piece don't seem to fit somehow though, but that's only my perception.

Thanks for listening and commenting, yes I could work on integrating the melodic fragments better a challenging thing to find space and levels that make them sit right..

It's basically an excerpt of a longer track, I'm finding my feet here.. Ambient Strings turns out to be a bigger set of sounds than it appears at first glance, lots to explore and discover and integrate..

Mach V, Ambient Strings; Granular Flautato Pad, EG Electric Mantra, Trans Harmonics Synth Split.

Spectral Synth, Spectral Excursions; Water Synth and Warm me up.

Some Drums from the New Polyplex by Twisted Tools.

I've used some Valhalla Übermod and Valhalla Room, iZotope Trash on the Drums and the Water Synth.

Done using Numerology Pro 4

This example is using the Ambient Strings soundest for Mach V, Spectral Excursions for Spectral Synth, Cardinals for Chromaphone, and Drums from Native Instruments(Twisted Tools) Polyplex extremely deviously sequenced using a mass of discreet sequencers in Numerology pro, modulated by still more sequencers, took years to work this technique out which I think is pretty unique..

Experimenting with Native Instruments Molekular using Patchpool DNA patches.. I used 3 sounds from the Spectral Excursions and Cardinals soundsets. The composing and mixing is done in Numerology Pro.. I sent the whole mix through a master reverb a single engine B2 church by 2C Audio..
