Sadly, the problem relates to the Mac OS-X SDK (or better: seemingly incompatible older OS-X SDK versions that don't want to build on my computer).

This is not related to X-Code. Additionally, several JUCE features break if I build against SDK 1.6. So, I definitely can't support 1.5 for now (which is what your OS needs).

I'd like to help you out, but this doesn't seem realistic.
