It's a new feature we've added to the GE only, it's called "cognitive bias" ;)

Seriously, both have an identical sound, given same settings.

Presets for the free version works good for GE.

Check the "Calibrate" level is the same, and the type of output saturation is the same. Could be why?

I tested them on clean. However when some harmonics mode is on, it is wider.

All is OK.

Hey Fabien,
I have 2 small suggestions :
- I think I already mentioned that when beta-testing, but I really like the way free version's HPF automatically engages when turning the frequency dial. The On/Off button in GE is pretty handy, yet I miss that ! Would be great for the LPF as well ;)
- would it be possible to make the A/B toggle MIDI mappable ?
Cheers !

Good idea! we'll have a look at midi-mapping for AB.

About the "greying out", I am not totally sure. The problem is that it makes it difficult to select exactly 10Hz or 40kHz (accordingly) without disabling the filter.

BTW, we're also working on a few updates to our generic features. We could improve the initial state of AB (right know, one always need to press "A > B" first, which is pointless). Also, we're trying to include a "Save as default preset" (and "Reset default preset to factory state") options.

It looks like I can hear difference only in realtime because after rendering they sounds the same.
Probably it is connected with something else in my setup.

Sorry.
I think, it's related with UI size. SlickEQ basic version has wider UI and SlickEQ has taller UI, which means narrower stereo image :-)

But seriously, HPF for SlickEQ basic version is out of auto-gain chain. In GE it'd placed into auto-gain calculation, which means output level can be different with the same settings.

It's better for me to perform blind/null testing between basic & GE version with the same settings just to be sure everything is okay. Theoretically it's possible a signal quality is downgraded somehow and it affects "width" perception...

Why not a new Swedish EQ model? (Tube-Tech rules!)

Or fixing the British mode on the Chandler TG Channel MK II EQ curves? ;-)

Also under "Sat On" they will not null - see pic.
This deceived me.

Is there a way to adjust the Q for SlickEq?W far in the manual Iit looks like all the curves are pre-defined.

If not may i suggest a user defined curve option (named User) that unlocks a Q adjustment feature.

After a some time of use GE edition I just wanted to say few things.
It is obvious that Sat button effect is quite different from the free version.
I don't use Sat at all on GE because it creates mid's too dominant, and make high's sound a bit dull.

This is the only problem for me.

By the way this is the best sounding EQ out there.
