It would be great if we could have stepped controls without using the Ctrl key. I would love to have this for use with an external control surface.

Is this possible at all? Maybe a future option?

Yes, we have such a feature for our forthcoming product (slickEq Mastering) and will consecutively roll it out across all our plugins. :)
