I know - this is not a major TX16W question, but I ask as I don't know what host is best for laptop use (i7, 8gb though)?
I really want to get going with this sample editor :phones: :)

Check out Reaper. It's not free, but it has an unlimited trial period.

It DOES?
Holy Batman... I was looking shortly for that but gave up on the price.
Tnx m8

It's $60 for your own personal usage - not really that bad.

No, I agree and I will buy later - money are quite small at the moment here though, music jobs has dropped down a lot for more than a year now but slightly coming back again :)

Image Lines "Mini Host Modular" is free and fine if you just want to play with TX16Wx...
But like ED says you cant go wrong with Reaper, or taking advice about it from him as he's
super Reaper guy...

Anyway there are tons of options depending on what you want to do.
If you really want some suggestions it would help to know exactly what that is...

Thank you pekbro, interesting suggestion too.
I've heard somewhere else that Rieper was a great solution for steady VST performance live as it includes midi program changes etc.
However I'm not sure I wanna go that way, or at least not yet.

My Tyros keyboard is now supporting Soundfont, and even I can't find stuff like "Scarbee Basses" for that I wanna try to do some samples myself or remake some of those I've got.
I know - no Round Robin, no key-off etc, but the big pro is that it can be loaded directly into the keyboard.
Basicly the reason for my interest in TX16 and sample editing for now :)

Tnx for the "advice" about EvilDragon :)
I've seen him on several sample forums and hopefully I might get a hint or two later on.

No problem,

Another thing you might want to check out is Renoise, the sampler in it
is similar to TX16Wx, and is built directly into the DAW. It might provide
a nice workflow for what you want to do... A Tracker, not a general
purpose DAW, but very interesting and specifically designed for working
with samples...

Think I paid 70 or so for it...

Thanks again..
I didn't even know there was a sampler in Renoise.. oops :)
Got to search for some info about that.
I got TX16W running in Reaper now, so I'm ready to take off for some testing soon ;)

I recomend Podium: zynewave.com/podium-free/
I use this DAW for years. Love it!
