Does TX16Wx work with AKAI VIP software?

Apologies for the beginner question.
I need to take pre-recorded WAV files and map them to my AKAI Advance to play live.
I can't get the TX16Wx to work with the Advance software. I'm running WIndows 10.
It seems to install OK but the GUI is mostly unresponsive to clicking.
Perhaps I have not installed it correctly, but on the off chance that you know these products are incompatible, I thought I'd ask you before doing any more work.

Sorry, I don't have access so Akai VIP. I guess I could try to get a NFR of it and check out what horrible things they do.
Just as a question, does TX16Wx work ok _outside_ Akai VIP on the same machine?
An unresponsive UI would suggest they are somehow stealing window events, but as I said, I've never run it.
