Thats what I felt when I bought Cubase a few years ago. Sold it pretty damn quick. Hope the Tracktion rumors pan our :)

Wow: looking at my KVR profile, it seems that the last time I posted (or even visited!) this forum was in 2007. Time flies!

Just wanted to say thanks to the people who've popped up in the last couple of days to express their enduring love for Tracktion - it's really gratifying to see that after all this time!

I also just want to say that although you may have heard rumours about things being afoot, I can neither confirm nor deny anything at the moment... :)

I sure hope the rumours are true.... :)

After a few tries to contact the Support about the future of Tracktion they answered. Good news:

Here is the response from the product manager.

Quote:

"The current retail bundles of Tracktion 3 are being discontinued - this is due to the amount of third party software that is included in these unique bundles and our contractual agreements with these companies.

Tracktion, as a platform, will remain available through our website and we will fully support the software under the terms of our support policies. We also plan on releasing exciting new developments to the platform in the future - watch this space..."

Good sound into the silence.
Seems like a lifetime ago...but hey, maybe that Mackie Product Manager knew more than he was letting on....?

....or maybe he was just blagging it.

Just sayin. One week to go chaps :)

Still no leaks? How annoying!

The Tracktionsoftware.com domain now has a "website coming soon" placeholder instead of the hosting domain page.

I know, right. It's the internet, leaks just want to be free. Someone needs to get Jules drunk this weekend and get the skinny.

Or just make something up. Even unsubstantiated rumor would be something. :D

So Jules pops up here after 6 years.... hmm.... is it a coincidence?
I hope not.
In any case I want to take the opportunity to say:

Jules..... we love you man.
I still use your jewel daily.

The website holder is audio-agent. com.

examining the source code of the site, we see:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p align="center"><img src="temp.jpg" width="435" height="172" /></p>
</body>
</html>

so: no mix in name or another software than audio software.

no doubt, something happens. i think another company than Mackie has taken over Tracktion and hired Jules to bring it up-to-date.

In the meantime the Mackie Forums are down for (perhaps) weeks. http://www.mackie.com/forums/

are they removing the Tracktion Thread?

strange things are going on these days. :o
