Help configuring Korg Nano Control 2

I got tired of futzing around trying to draw automation curves and purchased this.
The manual doesn't show a 'plug and play' configuration for Tracktion so now I'm futzing around trying to figure out how to make it work.
After running the USB driver and editor packages from the Korg site, it shows up in the midi I/O and control surfaces views in T's settings.
I go back to an edit, click on the automation button/create midi controlller options and get no love.
Korg's manual says to press the set button and a different one for each of several DAW programs. I've tried them all and got several different views in the editor but none seem to give results.

I did a search in these forums and could only come up with an outdated .zip file that was posted in 2004.

Hi metrognome, if you're on Tracktion 5 please take a look at the "MIDI Learning Tutorial" video here: http://www.tracktion.com/training-video ... g-tutorial

The step you are probably missing is creating a new Custom Control Surface from the "Control Surfaces" settings page.

Once you've done that you can use the MIDI Lean features to create your mappings.

Hope that helps, Dave.

Thanks dRow.
Got the transport buttons, faders and pan knobs going.
I may be back for more info about other functions but this will keep me happy for now.

I've just been going through the same painful process. Thanks for the post dRow, I should have looked here first...

... except, my nanoKontrol 2 now no longer shows up in tracktion as a midi device??
I checked the system hardware page in control panel (windows 7), and the computer recognizes the device, but it no longer shows up as an option on the tracktion midi devices setup page. It was there before, the two things I have done since is install the korg usb driver (which they said I should do) and their kontrol editor (which also says the device isn't connected).

No idea as to next steps, any suggestions would be appreciated...

Would this perhaps be of any help?

The post about the 10 MIDI device limit is almost certainly the culprit (this is not a Tracktion issue but a Korg driver issue). If you don't want to watch the video, search the web for how to solve it. Essentially remove all unneeded MIDI devices and reinstall the Korg driver. Or even better, uninstall all MIDI devices and then reinstall the Korg driver first. This ensures it gets a low ID.

Thanks all for the info. I'll take a run at it when I get some time in the next couple of days...
