I use Mac Os X 10.6.8, I have 2gb ram and dualcore 2.4ghz.
I use Renoise, Mixbus, Tracktion and sometimes Bitwig or Muxlab.

Just Tracktion has these two problems:
1) Vsts Gui are slowed by Tracktion gui.
When Tracktion is playing or when there are more VST plugins, VST´s gui are very unresponsive. It take a time to move by know etc...
This situation is present in other daws when my cpu is overloaded but it is nothing what should happen when tracktion has three audiotracks and two cpu-efficient plugins :).

2) Loading external files from Vsts is horrible!
i use Dimension Pro as a sampler. In Renoise the preset and its files is loaded very fast (lets say 2s), in Tracktion t takes 5x to 10x time more.

Is there any explonation for this? Does Juce has problem with combination of external plugins and older computers? :?:
Or is it something what can be upgraded in future version of Tracktion?
I dont remember that my older but much more powerful computer had so big performance problem with Tracktion (but it is dead now...). But i also dont think that Tracktion should be so demanding.. 8)

2 Gig Ram is really not a lot for today's standards. If possible, get at least 2 more.

In the 'settings' page you could uncheck 'Use 64 bit Maths when mixing' and make sure to turn off 'Low Latency Monitoring' in the cpu window.

I know but...
no other daw behave like this and i dont see big difference between 1gb ram i've got one month ago and 2gb i've got now. RAM doesnt look to be drained, so i dont think problem is here.
Other daws i've tried works much better with other plugins on mine computer. Tracktion alone behaves ok so i use it for mixing where i dont need knobs to be so responsible. but i dont use it for midi composing cause everything take so much time..

Just uncheck low latency and 64bit mixing it would solve this issue. T5 run good on small config.
