and what happen now with new collective ?. really worse it seem that waveform work only good on the overpriced linux, called mac. I see the mac mini are all 2 core systems, maybe waveform is only test on a 2 core system. maybe should test in bios disable 2 cores in the 4 core systems

in win 10 btw is now enable the linux layer, so can run linux programs easy. but as can read, on linux collective work too not

Install the Windows Subsystem for Linux

Enable the "Windows Subsystem for Linux" optional feature and reboot.

Macs don't run Linux, or a derivative of Linux.

Apple use a FreeBSD Kernel. you can read on their page. they call their linux version darwin and they must release it as opensource
https://developer.apple.com/library/con ... cture.html
The OS X kernel is an Open Source project. The kernel, along with other core parts of OS X are collectively referred to as Darwin. Darwin is a complete operating system based on many of the same technologies that underlie OS X. However, Darwin does not include Apple’s proprietary graphics or applications layers, such as Quartz, QuickTime, Cocoa, Carbon, or OpenGL
Apple have only add some proprietary code. If there is for Linux, quartz, quicktime, cocoa carbon library done, then mac programs can run on Linux. opengl is on linux.

FreeBSD isn't Linux. Darwin isn't a linux version. FreeBSD is opensource. Darwin is derived from FreeBSD. Darwin isn't even certified as posix compatible. There's nothing in the link you posted that describes Darwin as a version of linux.

No, they use an XNU kernel, which is a derivative of the Mach kernel, hybridised with BSD

There are elements of FreeBSD on top of that. And although BSD and FreeBSD are versions of Unix, XNU is not Unix.

XNU is not Unix

https://github.com/opensource-apple/xnu

Linux is not a version of Unix.

Linux Is Not UniX.

These are facts, not up for debate.

UNIX is copyrightid name, so clones are named diffrent. I of course mean unix simular OS. in wiki it is explain correct.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix
Many Unix-like operating systems have arisen over the years, of which Linux is the most popular, having displaced SUS-certified Unix on many server platforms since its inception in the early 1990s. Android, the most widely used mobile operating system in the world, is in turn based on Linux.
XNU contain Parts of freebsd and other unix clones

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XNU
XNU was a hybrid kernel combining version 2.5 of the Mach kernel developed at Carnegie Mellon University with components from 4.3BSD and an Objective-C API for writing drivers called Driver Kit.[citation needed]

After Apple acquired NeXT, the Mach component was upgraded to OSFMK 7.3 from OSF,[2] the BSD components were upgraded with code from the FreeBSD project, and the Driver Kit was replaced with a C++ API for writing drivers called I/O

Linux and UNIX are not clones.

UNIX is the mother of all, simular to MS-dos. Linux freebsd are the clones or derivate, simular to dr dos IBM dos or other we have in the past. i do not know correct word ,maybe Unix derivate is better. comon on all of these is, that they contain the API to get xserver and other libs that are in the Linux world public too running

or maybe it es better explain that mac os is same to linux a Unix offshot or Unix offspring. so wy they want such high prices

Even older Macs could run Linux, back in time OS9 has survived only 2 days on my MacBook before it was replaces by Debian :D
Modern "Macs" are just Apple build PCs with OSX pre-installed.

For the Collective... the developers have not managed to release a single normally working version of VSTi, but they have managed to release so broken version that they was forced immediately take it aways from downloads... with next 2 weeks of silence.

So lets continue with Apples

I didn't say they couldn't run Linux, I said they don't.
I'm not getting what's difficult to follow about this.

Yes, you can install a different operating systems on mac hardware. Well done. That doesn't mean OSX is a version of Linux.

The last post from a Tracktion official was on Oct 25th. Time to worry?

Apple's MacOS is a UNIX 03 registered product since Mac OS X 10.5.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_UNIX_Specification

Mac is a true UNIX system.

Linux and FreeBSD are UNIX-like.

the high-priced competition will not rest, in whatever.
so I hope that the developers are well and optimistic, and they clearly deserve support.
probably they are at work, in depth, and deeper statements take time to be stable and valid.

maybe the developers own no actual windows 10 64 system or are too lazy to install it. there is WinToUSB program out. with this you can install windows 10 on a USB drive/stick and boot from it. so you need not touch your boot sector. because windows work 30 days without activate there is enough time to test.
