Tracktion lags after recording

Does anyone know why every version of Tracktion that I've ever used always lags for about 5- 10 seconds (or more) after recording a WAV file, and then hitting stop? It seems to progressively get worse the more I use Tracktion. Do I need to free up some kind of folder or temp files?

What d'you mean by lags? What happens?
Have you got any a/v or similar real-time file scanning software running on the computer? Disable that for a bit, and see if you still have an issue. I'm not quite sure what you mean is actually happening though

It seems to only happen when recording a WAV file (ie...guitar, vocal). I record the track, and then hit stop, and after everything basically freezes for about 5 or 10 seconds. I think I figured it out though. I had a LOT of files in the temp folder from previous recordings. I just started over with a new edit, and it is back to normal now.
