Resolved my Q above with KH tech support. Thank you! The problem was I was dragging the automation onto the text of Connect Bowing - which was indeed making a connection to an element but, not the one that is the actual control, which is the *button* of Connect Bowing. Dragging the automation onto the button solved the problem and I am now able to automate Connect Bowing properly.
