Hi All,

I have another little synthedit problem. I have the following set-up in SynthEdit, but would like to replace the two buttons with one say by hitting a C and one by hitting an E on my midi keyboard. Any ideas?

Err not all your pics are showing up and links don't work until 10 posts.

On subject though have you checked out the yahoo SynthEdit user group? a lot of the folks over there are pretty sharp and quick to reply and Jeff McC posts as well.

((quietly counting the number of times XGmode has edited his post ... >>grins<<))

I saw more than 1 edit there XG. hehe.

A note on using the MIDI2Bool (my preference for this setup)... Set up its parameters (properties) like this:

Strip Out: System
Channel: All
Status TRUE if Note On
Channel TRUE if Any
Data 1 TRUE if 60 (or whatever key# you want to use as a switch)
Data 2 TRUE if -1

If you look, you'll see the posts are dated 2006. After that amount of time, its not really likely that the links would still be active.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Thanks for your reply! But with out images all those links almost doesn't give sense being ancient or modern, you may call me Spock with all respect. I just gets disappointed by the number I click, a piece of constructive criticism. I am here to share knowledge and to get some new friends, maybe.

Well, any button is toggled if anything by control change, so either get a note to cc convertor, or use a note event into a midi to cv, then that gate pin goes to a ck counter indexing, which controls by voltage to list a many to one. The many to one has the 2 button voltages you want. CK counter indexing is just one sequencer module, probably the easiest to use.

With the midi to cv controlling the list pin of the many to one, you couldn't still attach the button, so just make a 2nd one WITH the button attached...uh something along those lines, takes maybe a bit more thought than I'm willing to put in publicly. :tu:

Ehmm thanks I guess..:) But I wasn't looking for that really, just popped by, but yeah we do share Synthedit! currently I am testing her for possibilities, sound, stability, and performance, and it "looks" promising! I am in - going serious! trying to take it far and beyond:) But currently I am trying to find out how to make a preset manager??? gosh! with load and save function, with nice digital display and all in e.g.( Preset nr 128 Galaxy Pad)( with the preset name of the respective sound nicely displayed!) but I am stuck and don't know how to solve it or where to go, I need that, anyone for help here?

Don't know anything about that, I make audio software, not graphics elements.

Thats what I mean, in order to make audio software or instruments, we also need some interaction, something thats meaningful and handy, and not to forget or underestimate - a pure joy for the eye! well...how I perceive it. I am sure it makes the total user experience a bit better at least:) RBR thanks for ur reply, I love this, quick responds! ty.

Yeah that's cool, but to be honest, I've never used a unique plugin that looked female-ish-good. You're better off focusing on one aspect or another, like I tried the latest Saltline synth, and it looks really good, but it sounds basic.

Lol and right. But since I got a talent for it as well, the choices becomes easy, but quite demanding! but we like the challenge..hahha. For my part I am trying to get the logic - total architecture of Synthedit, its going slow and quick at the same time, mostly slow really :) Right..I think i know this synth, and in my memory I recall it as u described it. Well I made this little baby monster synth and I want her to look monster pretty! When able..why not?! Liking all the parts in the process except testing of various routings! takes for ever every time. But I understand. I also recall your site, and u got some interesting things there. But right, this aint about midi, key, buttons, keeping up the order? Ill take it from there :) Btw, I really love this site! because I love synthesizers, etc. I love creating things being a creator :) simply. As the pieces adds the visual look in chess I would say the same about a plugin :)

If you want to learn, there's a lot in the Yahoo Synthedit group archive. I learned some techniques there(retriggering stuff, vocoders, limiters).
