actually, i kinda made a bit of a mistake...the pro53 was doing some filter mod and other stuff too...when i swithced it all off, ithe sync sound was pretty similar to the SE one :oops:

I think they were just talking about one osc into the sync pin of a 2nd osc, a pitch envelope attached to pitch pin of 2nd osc.

Everthing is a trade-off in audio - the SE Osc can sync to anything - which is great, but the price is increased aliasing and less high end. If the programmer "knows" what the master osc is doing (i.e. coded into one module), sync can be improved, but then you can only sync to the available shapes in that given module - so you loose freedom. Here's a quick(and boring) test track, comparing the SE Osc versus a custom coded Osc for one of my future projects.

P.S. An interisting 'mod' that you can do in SE - is to vary the phase slightly(+- 0.25) and randomly of the Master Osc. Did not do that in the above example though.
