If anyone is still running XP like me the new version no longer works in anything less than Windows 7,so we will have to upgrade if we want any further version of Reaktor (sad).Cheers Glyn.

I don't think anything is terrible about W7, definite improvements in many areas.sebaden wrote:whats so terrible on Win7?Glyn Darby wrote:If anyone is still running XP like me the new version no longer works in anything less than Windows 7,so we will have to upgrade if we want any further version of Reaktor (sad).Cheers Glyn.
But I can understand being annoyed if you have a perfectly stable XP system (as I did till a few months back) and have to spend the time and money upgrading just to continue you using Reaktor.

understandable.. funny, it's just the reason why i'm still on win7 and not switched to 8..
..remember right i only switched because i've been forced too back then (drivers only for win7 and the usual non working new updates didn't supported xp anymore.
as we all know the real pros dont do any update and rather stay with that what works best: one example is the well known edm producer orjan nilsen who works still with XP.

Hi all,I have nothing against W7 at all but I am happy with XP (until this reaktor thing of course) and I live by the 'If it ain't broke then don't fix it' mode. Thanks Paulbreeze for the above work round link, I will give it a go.Cheers Glyn.

you can still update it manually for XP I did.
( ofcourse I'm a legal user of Reaktor
!!! do it at your own risk anyways. !!!
how to:
1) unpack the install with 7zip (free tool)
2) search for your proper exe and dlls in extracted area
( I use 32 bit ones - 32 bit are smaller in size than 64 bit ones )
3) copy exe over the old exe and copy dlls over old dlls in your vst dir
tadaa it works like a charm.

VoltAirOhm:
no no !
reak setup is not a 7zip file but 7zip knows how to handle it/its structure.

Double clicking on the Service Centre takes you to the file, and by default it's downloaded to your desktop.
