Sync and ringmod are made for eachother. You can make that shit talk.

have got formant type sounds out of DX,
if the modulator has a pitch envelope/tracking/velocity
response-if sines do that, once you startusing different
shapes you should get more brilliance/harmonics
i built some ringmods once, an LM something, 4 diodes,
and capacitors on the ins and out. it works ok but has
limited sweetspots, so you depend entirely on input
pitch - was thinking i could have a selector with different
capacitor values on the modulator input(would that work?)
to make it 'coarser'..bit reduction is that the same as bitcrusher?
granular? how about...pitchshifting? that's all modulation as well.

I don't have synthedit... so, I guess I can't look at this ringmod?odo wrote:Whats this in the ringmod
Do you mean the checked "Sum" option? Maybe it outputs the sum sideband only in the selected mode, making it a bit like a bode module? Sorry for wild guess if I'm mistaken.

His website doesn't say (I have it saved offline), the right click help does say sum is signal a+signal b, while diff is signal a-signal b
Kind of weird, so I guess it's actually an addition and not a multiplier? I've never used the sum mode.

AFAIK if this is using Chris Kerry modules, those different letters are different "styles" of ringmod. No tech details around, just pick one that you like I guess...

That does make the sum and diff choices sound like single sideband modes, to me. It would still be signal 'multiplication'. But, the device manages to cancel out (by some method) one of the resultant sidebands, passing only the sum or diff alone instead of both. If so, should work like the ehx ring thing and make frequency shifter sounds instead of ring mod sounds. No way for me to know without playing with it, though. But now I really want to!RunBeerRun wrote:His website doesn't say (I have it saved offline), the right click help does say sum is signal a+signal b, while diff is signal a-signal b

Yeah the sum mode definitely is still a multiplier. I'm building a ring mod effect with it.
