Also worth checking is Midimod, a modular midi program that is great fun and been around for years.

Nice, I hang around electro-music.com regularly but had no idea Blue Hell made software. Makes me want to fire up my Windows XP machine!

Midimod still works on Win7 and I think Win8.

Its great fun, shame theres no VST equivelant.
Its like a modular synth but purely outputs midi :)

seems like it could be fun - what are the results like? chaotic, or 'predictable'?

do you need VST version if you just send the midi into your VST host?

These two I'll check out!

After reading this disclaimer...
Wren is not a product, but a hobby project that got out of control a bit. This software ain't good for anything and it will crash your PC too.
Why would anybody even bother downloading this thing?

Because some of us arent in it solely for the crassly mercenary objective of trying to make a quick buck selling presets?

A lot of experimental software is in this kind of state. I think it depends on what sort of person you are - some people love these kind of projects - it's kind of like a science experiment in a dark basement - see what it spits out before it breaks..

I love Bluehell's live streams - been tuning in on and off for a good few years now.

I'm an electro-music.com member too; was happy to see this in a KVR thread.
As far as wagtunes' question- the dev's just got a sense of humor, and is probably trying to avoid being
swamped with demands and questions from people without one- I'd reported an issue, and he was very prompt
and courteous with addressing it, development is ongoing.
As for what can be done with it, here's a self-playing patch made by the dev

Discontinue use if rash or irritation develops.

Try it if you like it keep it if you don't delete it , it's free after all :) My few cents: It's a powerful little beast don't underestimate it.
