Postby narrill; Tue Oct 31, 2017 1:46 pm Reaktor FM synthesis question

Hey guys. I've just discovered Reaktor and I'm messing around with FM synthesis a bit, and I've run into a small issue. With several oscillators in series I get a sort of pitch glide at the beginning of each note.

Here's a video illustrating what I'm talking about. The instrument is in there too.

So why is this pitch glide happening? Is it some quirk of FM, or is it because of how I'm using Reaktor?

What you're hearing is bandwidth creep because one or more of your modulators has a slow amplitude/VCA envelope.

As the carrier gets louider as the envelope ramps, the depth of the FM intermodulations changes. What you're hearing as a glide, is actually a raising in the harmonics above the Carrier's fundamental.
