Anyone had a chance to mess about with this? I've been having a go with it and it's pretty cool! Definitely worth checking out if you're into modular stuff.
"Automatonism is Johan Eriksson—a music-maker writing his PhD at the Birmingham Conservatoire. His research aims to discover new techniques for music-making with modular synths and he is using composition, performance and instrument design to do so. The main contribution to knowledge is twofold: firstly the development of a new software platform for the creation of music not previously possible with modular synths, and secondly giving birth to a new performance model for live-patching. Today, he is developing a software called Automatonism, which explores new techniques for making music with self-playing machines. His work proposes a novel performance model for music-making with modular synths: highlighting the partnership between human and the automaton."
