livecut in ableton

im having a play with live cut and im struggling to record the outcome properly, i'll try to explain:-

i have two tracks with the same drum break, one of these has live cut in the rack and the other is a dry sample of the break to mix into later,

i solo the track with livecut and hit record, it sounds lovely, i try to play back using the sequencer in which i have just recorded but its not the same as i just heard, its like live cut is still doing its thing and changing the loop,

i just cant record the audio permanently for some reason,

hard to explain but anyone know what i mean and how i could fix it??
