Excellent sounds there Laurent! I wanted to do something with the Xils synth for the competition, but too many other things got in the way, but it seems the competition was a huge success! Anyway, it's about time I upgraded my LE version and got deep into it, so this might aswell be the time to do it!

Best wishes with Xilistics :)

Thanks Torben :hug:

Makes my day, especially coming from a talented Sound Designer like you !

I take a risk and bet that you won't be disapointed by the Xils 3. While making the soundset, I was really amazed by the sonic possibilies of the beast :)

Hey Ltz,
I got a bit carried away after listening to your demos and bought Xilistics last night, after buying XILS3LE with my discount coupon (I would've loved XILS3 but I just haven't got 100euros to spare atm :( ). In my enthusiasm I forgot about the posts earlier in this thread about compatibility with the LE version :oops:

I haven't installed it yet so I don't know - will any of the patches work with LE?

(I feel such a dork :roll: )

Hi Mike,

well I'm afraid very few could work, if any. :?

I made an extensive use of all the extra modules only found in the full version of Xils 3.

The good thing when you upgrade from Xils 3 LE to full is that it take the same ID and therefore you can load ancient projects in your Daw, the LE will automatically replace the LE, and they will play identical, except you now have the power of the Xils 3.

But this also means that you cant have the XILS 3 and LE available at the same time on the same machine. Therefore I cant even test the presets in the LE.

I'll ask to Xavier if the will at least load into the LE version, or maybe you can try it. But the vast majority of the instruments will certainly sound very different I guess.

Sorry for that.

Its unlikely that I do a version of the bank for the Xils 3 LE, but if I do this I'll have to create a lot of completely new presets, and therefore it wont happen before at least next year.

Hey Laurent,
Thanks for the reply, I've tried quite a few patches earlier tonight but no dice - it doesn't crash or anything, but it doesn't make any sound either :(

Oh well, I'll just have to wait until I can afford to upgrade...

Maybe Xavier could put a huge NOT FOR LE VERSION banner on the Xilistics page in case there are any more idiots like me around :lol:

Cheers,
Mike

Very good idea Mike, and very fair play too !

We'll do that !

Thanks for testing if they make sounds or not. I think Simon made a derivative/adapted soundbank from one soundbank he made for the Xils 3 for the LE . If this is confirmed, I'll ask him what kind of trick he used ( besides of manually copying all the parameters from two units on two different computers :shock: :shock: :shock:

Thanks,

Have the sounds been updated for XILS 3.2?

Post

Not yet, but they will be.

From my first tests : Most sound identical, then another batch very close/similar, and only a few ones will be rewritten for Xilistic II. This update will be free for all Xilistics users and ..... there might be another good surprise for early adopters ( or those who buy it now bundled with the Xils 3 v2.0 ) ( note : all existing projects are 100% compatible, as they will load with Xils v1.5.4 )

A few days left to get Xilistics with the Xils 3v2.0 promo.

Also Xilistics will be updated in the future, with additionnal presets. Free update for all Xilistics users of course.

A quatuor of audio demos featuring Xilistics presets in isolation.

1/ Some basses and some percs

Xilistics Basses & Percs

2/ Some Pads and Fx. Sometimes some very complex pads :)

Pads & Fx

3/ Some Keys and some Synths

Keys & synths

4/ And finally some leads ( demo is shorter because you can already hear a lof of leads in the minitracks demos. Xilistics contains a good part of classic patches, including classic leads

July 08 2014.

Xilistics 2.0 has jsut been released :

* All presets rewritten for Xils 3 V2 and Xils 4
* 40+ presets added (Now more than 200 )
* Free for Xilistics owners ( Just log in to your Xils account and DL them )
* Presets names have been edited for this version ( 'B' Suffixed ) ( This_Bass --> This_Bass B )
* For Xils 4 users : Some preset will be too loud and clip a bit. A special version of Xilistics will be released for Xils 4 ( free for all Xilisctics owners of course) . However just slightly lower the general output of such presets and you can use the presetss without problem in the Xils 4. Besides that Xilistics V2 is fully compatible with Xils 4

* Intro Price for 2 weeks : 19.9€ instead of 25 €

An audio demo :

Cat on a burning Roof

Numerous other audio demos in the posts above, or first page of this thread.

A little off topic but some synths versions (XILS, Syn'X) are in beta/preview for months. Will these be updated to final versions, or are they good to go anyway?

These are beta versions of updates only. Xils 4 for example : The bata version is the one of the v1.0.1. Syn'X beta version is mainly about changing the name of the synth. Syn'X has been stable for years now.

So you can install the beta versions without problem. If, by misfortune, something went wrong, just revert to the previous version *.( And any report on xils forum is always very much appreciated in this case so that we can fix eventual bugs ) ( * All installers are available on Xils site )

Hope I answered the question.

I know, I am just asking if these versions will become "stable" soon.

Well, as far as the current reports go, they are from as stable to more stable than the previous versions.
If by stable you meant *fix version* the Xils 4 version should pass to a fix version rather soon. And the Syn'X after that and the release of our next musical unit.
