Building Instrument Splits

Is there anyway in the Instrument Layer tool to constrain a layer to a specific range of keys? I realize it's meant for straight up layering, but I'm wondering if there is a way of unifying several synths into splits, so, say, you might have a drum kit at the bottom range, a bass an octave up, and a pad on the upper octaves? I feel like I'm maybe missing an obvious solution.

You can use a Note Filter device on each layer... it can constrain to a key range and or velocity range
